Kanchivaram is a 2009 Tamil film directed and written by Priyadarshan. The film was originally planned to be shot in Malayalam with Mohanlal in the lead role. But the lead character of the film, required to shave of some hair. Mohanlal couldnt do it, as he was working on other films. Hence Priyadarshan signed in Prakash Raj, and made the film in Tamil.It has been released in India in march 2009[1]. The movie stars Prakash Raj and Shriya Reddy in lead roles and has the musical score by M. G. Sreekumar, and art direction by Sabu Cyril. Film's story is set in the silk weavers' town of Kanchipuram, in post-independence India, though the film was shot mainly in Mysore. Source: Wikipedia
